Two big events occurred over the last weekend. The first was the arrival and installation of the pedestrian bridge beams and their installation over the tracks.
To accommodate railroad schedules, which pedestrians won't have to worry about once "Seattle Cloud Cover" is open, the Sellen team worked well past the midnight Saturday and Sunday nights. Early Monday morning, all seven beams were in place.
Each beam required the coordinated effort of ground crew, truck drivers, a crane operator, steelworkers on the abutments, and the ongoing, built-by-hand attention quality that has characterized the entire Olympic Sculpture Park construction effort.
By this morning, the bridge was being covered with panels, new scaffolding was in place, and another "Z" has been defined.
