Large re-bar screens are constructed, bar by bar, on site, by hand. No doubt this is a specialty, as the same man has a hand in almost every effort.

After they're completed, lowered into place and carefully aligned, large form panels are craned into place outside of the re-bar, sandwiching it against the stone retaining wall, and then carefully braced.

Down the middle of the upper lot, tubular forms are put in place around columnar cages bolted into the now-cured cement pads. One by one, they're filled with cement to create columns.

Forms are also put in place to create walls, defining more or the underground infrastructure, almost on a daily basis. Looking north from Elliott and Broad provides a good perspective on the steady progress.

On the lower lot, just east of the tracks, the re-bar structure has been filled with cement, and stacks of forms wait to be put in place.

More information about the project is available here.

One neighbor's unoffical journal of construction progress made at the Olympic Sculpture Park. As seen over, and through, the fences.
