The pace is picking up, and so is the noise. Good noise that foretells the tranquility of a beautifully landscaped public park.

The excavated section of the Myrtle Edwards parking (not) lot has been filled and paved over, and the fences are down except the one blocking the south end of the lot.

Not much remains of the trees formerly growing along Western Ave. They hadn't been in very good health, as this rotted trunk, one of many, reveals.

The team of operators running the heavy equipment continue to demonstrate their incredible efficiency, literally changing the landscape each and every day.

The north end of the upper lot now has an earthen ramp which almost appears to have been pulled out and inverted as a single mass.

The south end has been transformed from solid conrete to rubble, with growing sections being cleared for the next phase.

Check here to see what used to be there.

More information available here.

One neighbor's unoffical journal of construction progress made at the Olympic Sculpture Park. As seen over, and through, the fences.
